Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 14 August 2016 -- ACTS (A Call To Share), which is an organization based in Singapore, was founded in 2006 when a small group of parishioners from the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace visited and shared the joy of Christmas with the students of Don Bosco Phum Chreh in Cambodia. At present, volunteers have grown from an initial number of 25 to 500 with the involvement of some Parish churches, various tertiary institutions (local and overseas), and people from different religions. The mission of ACTS have extended to other Southeast Asian countries: Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam.

ACTS is aimed at providing assistance to promote education and basic healthcare for the less privileged and disadvantaged in Cambodia. Their missionary work encompasses the construction and repair of schools and medical centers, power and clean water programs, vocational training, oil and food initiative and the developments of social enterprise.

Last August 14, 2016, ACTS on its 10th annual Gala Dinner, which is its major fundraising event to support their on-going initiatives and new projects, held at Copthorne Waterfront Hotel (Singapore), accorded the "Apostle of the Year" to Aspirant Charlene Chua of Mary, Our Help Province (Cambodia – Myanmar). Charlene who has been actively involved with ACTS since 2012 spent 7 months as a volunteer English teacher at Don Bosco School (Teuk Thla, Phnom Penh). In such a short time, she inserted herself in the school community giving herself with dedication and passion for the disadvantaged children. In recognition to her exemplary service and active involvement with ACTS this year’s "Apostle of the Year" was bestowed upon her.
