Animating visit of SC Councilor in MYM

Anisakan, Myanmar, 17 November 2017 --The five days long animation visit of Myanmar Vice-province of Mary Help of Christian brought Fr. Filiberto Gonzalez Plascencia through Yangon to Anisakan and will end in Mandalay (November 15-20). The general councilor for the Social communication from Mexico enjoyed the two full days workshop about Communication at the Provincial house in Anisakan with 30 confreres who gathered for this occasion from all local communities.
Main focus of his interactive seminar was to share the basic convictions of Salesian Social Communication, starting from the human interpersonal relationship and rooted in the DNA of Don Bosco Salesian charism from the early days of the Oratory in Valdocco. Main themes like authenticity of life, listening to God, to the confreres and to the young emerged as the fundamental communicative attitudes of the Salesians.
Among the main resources shared during the seven working sessions was the Letter of Don Bosco (1885) about the 'Spreading of Good Books', the 'Salesian System of Social Communicatinon (ed. 2011), Social Communication elements in Formation (ed 2013) always presented with very personal human touch and true Mexican passion.
At the end of the two days the participants including four Salesian Brothers, one deacon and 25 Salesian Priests brainstormed the main contents of provincial plan for Social Communication in all necessary areas of formation - animation, information and production. The only regular Salesian magazine 'The companion of Youth' (quarterly, 1000 copies) was also presented to Fr. Filiberto.
Beyond the formation session Fr Filiberto had a good chance to get in touch with the rich cultural and religious heritage of the country in Yangon and in Mandalay, to visit the Postnovitiate in Pyin Oo Lwin, Nazareth Aspirantate in Anisakan and prayed at the tomb of Fr. Fortunato Giacomin (+2000) and other Salesians near the provincial house.
