Banpong, Thailand, 13 July 2023 -- On 10 July 2023, at 09.00 hrs, Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil SDB, presided at the Holy Mass of the funeral service of Fr Valentino Sosio, a Salesian priest, at St Joseph Church, Banpong, Ratchaburi. Bishop John Bosco Panya Kritcharoen, Fr Boonlert Paneetatthayasai, the Provincial of Thailand, concelebrated together with many other Salesian confreres and other diocesan clergy. Other members of the Salesian Family, teachers and students from Salesian institutions, and parishioners, came to join the funeral.
Fr. Valentino Sosio passed away in Banpong, Thailand, on 6 July 2023. He was an Italian missionary who spent 66 years in this country. During the final years of his life, Fr Sosio lived amidst the aspirants at Baan Nazareth (Banpong). He went to the Father's house at the age of 86 years.
He was born in 1937 in Semogo - SONDRIO, Italy, made his first profession in 1958 in Hua Hin-Thailand, and returned to the house of the heavenly Father after 65 years of Salesian consecrated life and 55 years of priesthood (3 Jan 1968).
His 55 years of Salesian priesthood were dedicated to the education and pastoral work in the following Salesian communities:

1975-1976 Hat Yai - Our Lady of Lourdes Church

1993-1996 Hat Yai - Saengthong Vitthaya School

2002-2023 Banpong - Nazareth House
