Dili, Timor Leste, 27 January 2019 -- During the celebration of the Third Sunday in the Ordinary Time, 27 January 2019, all Salesian Cooperators from the Dili local centre, senior and junior members, came together in the CENTEC AVR hall to welcome their new leaders, who will lead them over the next three years. This event began with the Eucharistic celebration at which the Provincial, Fr Apolinario Neto, SDB presided, in the CENTEC chapel. During the Mass, the new leaders (New Coordinator Mr Segismundo A. Liberato, including all his supporting members in the leadership structure) were installed for three years of service (2019-2022) by the Provincial. They promised to commit themselves to guide all their members according to the will of God and Don Bosco’s apostolic mission for young people in this area.
After the Eucharist, Father Provincial launched the Statutes and Regulations of the Salesian Co-operators which have been translated into Tetum. The event continued with the presentation of the Rector Major's Strenna and commentary: “so that my joy may be in you (John 15:11). Holiness for you too,” by Father Provincial. They listened attentively and were very positive regarding the main message of Rector Major calling on us to pursue a life of holiness as part of our charismatic identity as Salesians. This event concluded with the sharing of a meal together by all members present.
