Way to the Future: FIS province
Lourdes Parish, Cebu City, the Philippines, 25 July 2019 -- The delegates of the different sector commissions met at the Family and Life Building of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes on 25 July 2019. This synergy meeting is meant for the different commissions of the FIS province to share their plans with one another and collaborate on similar activities.
Fr. Godofredo Atienza, SDB, the FIS provincial, in a closing remark thanked the delegates for ‘a milestone in the upgrading of the standards in the way the province operates’. Working together is a Salesian way of doing youth ministry.
Present at the meeting were Youth Ministry delegate, Fr. Joriz Calsa; Social Communication delegate, Fr. Keith Amodia; Missionary animation delegate, Fr. Arvin Abatayo; Formation delegate, Fr. Amelito Narciso Racelis; Economy - Finance delegate, Fr. Adriano Satura; and Delegate for the Salesian Family, Fr. Orlando Borres.
At the beginning of this new school year (2019-2020) this synergy meeting highlights the need to live and work together (SDB constitutions, 49) and the wisdom that the whole Salesian mission is always entrusted to the community (SDB constitutions, 44).
Two of the provincial sector delegates are also the EAO sector coordinators - Missionary Animation (Fr Arvin) and Economy (Fr. Adriano), who will soon take part in the annual EAO regional Sector Coordinators Group meeting in Manila, August 23rd.
