Bangkok, Thailand, 15 December 2019 -- From 9-10 December 2019, the Salesian Cooperators of Thailand organized their Provincial Congress at Don Bosco Home - Bangkok. The participants included the unit councils, the members of the provincial council and the Salesian and FMA animators. All in all there were 40 participants.
The meeting started on the eve of 9 December 2019 with the Holy Mass presided by no other than Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB. This was also the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, there was a procession of the Blessed Mother around the house. After dinner, there was an evaluation of the activities of the past three years.
On 10 December 2019, the members held the election of the new provincial council, for a term of three years, from 2020 - 2022. It came out that Mr. Pornsawad Lertvitayavivat was chosen for another term as coordinator of the Salesian Cooperators - provincial level. Another 6 cooperators were also chosen as council members. After the election process, the meeting continued to lay out the annual plan. The provincial congress of the Salesian Cooperators ended with the Holy Mass at which Fr. John Bosco Dheparat Pitisant, the Salesian Provincial was the main celebrant.
Now we have 188 Salesian Cooperators in the Thai province. Fr. Dominic Suphot Riungam is the SDB delegate for the Salesian Cooperators while Sr.Maria Suphawan Chotiphon is the FMA delegate.
