Macau, China, 30 November 202 -- After the Thanksgiving celebrations in Hong Kong last October 22, also the Macau Salesian Family members gave thanks for the Canonization of Brother Artemides Zatti together with Salesian Family members thanksgiving for the Diamond, Golden and Silver Jubilees of their religious profession and priestly ordination. The festive gathering was held in Yuet Wah College (Salesian Secondary School) Millenium Hall on November 12 with the presence of more than 300 Youth and members of 6 Salesian Family Groups (SDB, FMA, Salesian Cooperators, Don Bosco Past Pupils, FMA Past Pupils and VDB). After the Youth Gathering was celebrated the solemn Eucharist presided by Macau Bishop Stephen Lee Bun-sang with other 6 Salesian priests.

First Fr. Jacob Yu introduced the holiness of Brother Zatti at the Salesian family gathering. Youth gatherings took place in the form of interactive exhibition. Saint Brother Artemides Zatti's life was a witness of serving God in his daily life as a living prayer. In order to help students understand how Brother Zatti tough life faced ministering the poor and sick people, the Macau Salesian Youth Ministry Office prepared ten exhibition panels with the details of Br Zatti's life. Young people were invited to write down their prayer intentions to ask some specific graces through the intercession of the new Saint. Through the exhibition our students were able to learn about the not-so-easy vocation journey of our new Salesian Saint. More than 180 young people participated in this event, that was concluded with quiz and related awards. So the young people were able to learn through the exhibit and short video clips at various display points more about the life story of Br Artemide, and be inspired to follow his path to holiness.

At the end of the Eucharist celebrated by the Macau Bishop, Fr. Joseph Chao,SDB the representative of the Salesian Society in Macau, pointed out that celebrating is not the same as being happy, because celebrating is related to some values and everyone’s life. In the tradition of Don Bosco and that of the Catholic Church, every celebration is very important, because through these occasions many important values can be grasped. All Salesian celebrations, including that of the Saint Artemides Zatti have one thing in common. We are all very limited people, but at the same time, we can find the infinite mercy of the Lord in our own limitations. Grace, walk a path of holiness. Fr Chao invited all members of the Salesian family to follow the footsteps of Saint Brother Artemides Zatti, embark on the path of holiness, and see Christ in their neighbors. In this way everyone around them, especially the young people can find their own human dignity.

Most of the Salesian Bulletin (no. 291 - December 2022) is dedicated to our new Saint, Brother Artemides Zatti (for download). We pray that the 'next-door' holiness of Salesian Brother Artemides Zatti will inspire many young people to follow Jesus with their whole heart!
