Don Bosco Sunyani, Ghana, Western Africa, 31 December 2021 -- Merry Christmas/Happy new Year from the Don Bosco Sunyani community in Ghana, Western Africa!
We were told, that 25-40 years ago the first African SDB novices after starting the 'Project Africa' were sent for their initial formation to other continents, mostly to English speaking Asian countries. Now, due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions around the EAO region, after a long search by our superiors I'm here in Ghana, Sunyiani in 'Venerable Simon Srugi Novitiate' with my fellow novices coming from nearby African countries (AFW province).
I'm very happy and like to share with few photos our novitiate team, our formators and community.
Sunyiani is located in the northern part of Ghana, a wonderful Salesian presence with two large SDB communities that care for parish, school, Don Bosco home, Oratory and our Novitiate. Also one Vietnamese missionary, Fr Thomas Huan, is part of our formation team.
Please, pray for me and my friends here that we may grow with the heart of Don Bosco!
