Anisakan, Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar, 7 May 2024 -- Basic computer skills are one of the requirements constantly demanded of today's youth in order to enter either educational fields or any other professions in our global society. Just to get basic computer skills, many local youth have to travel for hundreds of kilometres to the big cities, like Yangon and Mandalay. The expenses for their journeys, food and accommodation are always much more than their computer training fees. Furthermore, being away from one’s family can also bring unnecessary social problems if one is not prudent and cautious enough about the threats of city life.

With all these reasons and taking a practical response to the needs of the young, the Don Bosco Media Team dreamed of computer training courses for local youth. And the idea has come into action since last summer with the humble start of a portable classroom. However, it has been going on very well so far, and over 150 youth have benefited from the training courses. Among them, some 50 youth have already earned certificates of successful completion in different subjects. The subjects offered are as the followings;

  1. Computer Basics
  2. Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel)
  3. Desktop Publishing (DPT)
  4. Basic Photo Editing, and
  5. Basic Video Editing
