Anisakan, Myanmar 16 April 2024 -- The vice-province of Myanmar is thanking the Lord for the completion and success of the PC7 (10-13 April 2024) as well as for the protection and safety of all the PC members. Because the PC members had to journey from the four corners of the country where intense civil battles are happening, and means of transportation are also very limited and difficult for the time being. To move from place to another in the current moment is a risky task here.

As the PC was successfully over on 13 April evening, the PC members could travel back to their respective communities on 14 April morning peacefully. However, on the same day at approximately 9:15 p.m. local time., a series of rockets were fired at the military Defence Services Academy (DSA) located in the town of Pyin Oo Lwin in the Mandalay region. It is about 11 km from our Don Bosco Retreat Centre. We could clearly hear the noise of explosions, military trucks, and helicopters moving around at night. On 15 April, the military was very busy with serious investigations at every corner of the town.

Thus, with all these experiences, we are really grateful to the Good Lord for allowing us to finish up the PC7 successfully, as well as for protecting us from all harm. We earnestly request for your intense prayers for the protection of the people and peace in the country, Myanmar.
