EAO Region, 30 September 2022 -- The great day for the whole Salesian Family (October 9) of Salesian Brother Zatti's Canonization is coming soon. Some 500 Salesian Brothers from all around the world are preparing for their travel to Rome, including some 100 pilgrims from all corners of the EAO Region. Among the most numerous EAO Delegations are probably Vietnam (19 SDBs) and Korea (16). They will attend the two special occasions in the Vatican - first on Saturday, October 8, the Eucharist celebrated by the Rector Major and followed immediately by the Audience with Pope Francis in the Paul VI Hall. Then on Sunday, October 9, they will personally witness the Canonization of Br Artemides Zatti (along with Bishop Scalabrini).

To love, know, imitate, pray to and make known our first Salesian Brother Saint, there are many local, provincial and congregation-wide initiatives:

China and Thailand-Laos-Cambodia provinces have already published new editions of the Salesian Bulletin or Provincial Newsletter with abundant coverage of the person and spirituality of Br. Artemides Zatti in their respective languages.

FIN province has prepared a special 'micro-site' for Br. Zatti's Canonization with the essential prayers, novena and other resources. Especially the Novena, starting on September 30 (courtesy of Italy-Piedmont, ICP Circumscription) marks the 9 day preparation for canonization.

The Social Communication sector (RMG - General House) is busy facilitating the production, sharing and exchange of various materials, like video clips (Story of Brother Zatti in 5 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h55OH1H3UlU; produced in Argentina) and many slides used on the SMS in the 6 main languages of the Salesian Congregation. Most of these materials (Liturgical texts, Br. Zatti sayings, Life-story, Letter of the Rector Major for the Canonization) are available on Boscolink (www.bosco.link) the East Asia-Oceania Regional website.

October 9, 2022 is a special day in the history of the Salesian Congregation, let us prepare with it with our whole heart!
