By Fr. Peter Vareng, SDB

Melbourne, Australia, November 29, 2015 - Each province has its own traditions and way of celebrating. The AUL province of Australia-Pacific did conclude the Bicentenary Year of Don Bosco with a new valuable publications, a fine collection of Salesianity reflections.

"On Sunday 29 November, in the presence of Card Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga, who happened to be visiting Melbourne, in a gathering comprising various members representing the whole Salesian Family, we celebrated the official conclusion of the Bicentenary Year begun for us with the Conference in Geelong in late January 2015.

On that same evening, Fr Provincial suggested we make the official launch of a small collection of reflections that he had asked me to put together already following the Salesian Week in January. Delving into some of the material that I had previously used in retreats with the confreres of this Province and then in Timor twelve months ago, the result was this small collection of thoughts on Don Bosco and Salesianity."

The 130 pages book contains 10 short meditation - contextualized reflection on Don Bosco's Life and Spirit: The Dream - Balancing the Tightrope- With Don Bosco and the Times - Da mihi Animas - ... Coetera Tolle - The gift of Presence - Preventive System - Salesian Spirituality - The Salesian at Prayer - Mary: The Mother.

Peter Varengo is a Salesian priest presently engaged in full time Adult Retreat Ministry in Australia.
