RMG, Rome, 3 June 2019 -- Four months before the start of October 2019 declared by Pope Francis an "Extraordinary Missionary Month" for the whole global Catholic community, the Salesian Family too receives a simple, but well-focused set of animation materials for each of the 31 days (October 1-31, 2019).

  1. Only a Fire can spread a Fire
  2. The Harvest is great
  3. Responsibility of Pastors
  4. Special responsibility of consecrated religious
  5. Adequate structures for evangelization
  6. Collaboration in evangelization
  7. Nurturing local vocations
  8. Well qualified local clergy
  9. Christ is at home in every culture
  10. Nobility of the missionary call
  11. The call is to build his Kingdom
  12. His Kingdom, not my Country
  13. The Kingdom is universal
  14. Cetera Tolle (Take away all the rest)
  15. Need for scientific knowledge
  16. The music of the mother tounge
  17. Holiness is indispensable
  18. The power of example
  19. A burning love for all
  20. Not without persecution
  21. God, the source of our confidence
  22. Religious women in the missions
  23. Lay Missionaries
  24. Support through prayer
  25. Fostering missionary vocations
  26. Selection of leaders
  27. Material support to the missions
  28. Support groups
  29. Children and the Missions
  30. Missionaries among the diocesan clergy
  31. My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord

Each day (two small pages) follows a simple scheme:

  • Gospel reading
  • Popes Magisterium (Maximum Illud 1919 > Pope Francis)
  • Salesian reflection
  • Something to think about
  • Something to share or to do

Pope Francis expect sa renewed missionary awareness and action from the 2019 Extraordinary Missionary Month all around the world. Depends on the creativity and consistent effort of each provincial Delegate for missionary animation and/ or Youth Ministry Delegate. This year our Congegation celebrates the 150th Salesian Missionary Expedition with more than 35 new missionaries (Turin - Valdocco, September 29)
