Tigaraksa, Indonesia, 13th May 2018 -- The Delegation of Indonesia had recently concluded the Brothers’ Pre-Congress Meeting which was held in the Salesian Novitiate of Tigaraksa.
The Brothers took the opportunity to start the 4-day Pre-Congress Meeting (May 10-13, 2018) during the prescribed Indonesian holiday for the Lord’s Ascension on Thursday and finished up until Sunday morning.
Following the scheme of Fr Bozzolo SDB regarding the two forms of one Salesian vocation, the Brothers were given some points for the deepening and reflections in three parts, presented by Fr Andre Delimarta, Fr Yosef Ola and Br Ephrem Santos. There were 3 opportunities also for fraternal sharing of reflections, proposals for formation schemes and sharing of life experiences. The Brothers, reflecting on Religious Life, had an underlying theme printed on their shirts: “Not me but Christ!”
The novices were free to join the group sharing sessions, receiving inspiration from the marvelous ways the Lord touches the hearts of the young through these Brothers who are more immersed in the world of work and in formal and non-formal education. Saturday evening, was made special by the novices who prepared an outdoor dinner with a short play and several lively songs to express their thoughts on the brother vocation.
All the Brothers assigned in Indonesia were in attendance: 5 perpetually professed and 5 with temporary vows. On their last full day on Saturday, the Brothers had time to watch an afternoon movie about the Marvel comics heroes who gave their very best to save the world. Quite similar to the Brother vocation that calls for the offering of one’s very best for the salvation of the youth in the Salesian style and holiness.
