ADMA Jakarta (INA), 8 October 2022 -- 24th September 2022 became a meaningful day for me and 8 other ADMA candidates.
Why so?
Because that was the day when all of us were brave enough to commit and devote our lives to Mary help of Christians as taught by Saint John Bosco, where we officially became members of ADMA.
I never thought in my life that I would be called to fully devote my heart to Mary help of Christians.
When I was in primary school, I was introduced to the holy Rosary for the first time by an Italian priest by the name of Fr. Valentino CM. It was since then that I routinely prayed the rosary. I seldom asked Mother Mary for anything during my prayers, only that praying the Rosary became a habit I did every night before bed. Of course, there were times when I didn’t feel like praying the Rosary, but I found that my heart is at peace whenever I did, and so I did my best to pray whenever I could, even if it means on public transport as I was on my way to work.
Today, I carry the Rosary with me wherever I go, so that I could pray the Rosary whenever I feel like it.
One day, Sr. Ernestina invited me to join the ADMA community. I joined at the beginning only because ADMA was a group that devoted themselves to Mother Mary. At first, I thought to myself why I joined ADMA, and if I should really devote myself to this group. After all, I’ve been praying the rosary every day, and I didn’t quite understand the difference between Mary Help of Christians and Mother Mary. But as I went to more ADMA sessions, I discovered stories and miracles such as the Lepanto war in Europe, where they prayed the rosary consistently and won against the Turkish army.
Because of such miracles, I began to see my devotion to Mary Help of Christians as a calling.
As Don Bosco himself was full of aspirations, all of which was achieved through his unfailing faith in Jesus Christ and Mary Help of Christians, I pray for my dreams and my family that we may continue to act and be of service according to the Catholic Faith, especially for the younger generations.
