Seminar on Salesian Youth Ministry

By Fr. Mạng Lưới Thông Tin Gia đình Salêdiêng, SDB

K’Long, Vietnam, 29 August 2017 -- To implement the line of action of the GC 27 and the Provincial Chapter 2016, the intercommission of Youth Ministry and Formation held a 3-day seminar on Salesian Youth Ministry for the members of Salesian Family. There are 43 participants who represent all components of Salesian Family in the Province: SDB, FMA, VDB, SC and Past-Pupils.

Under the animation and guidance of Fr. Fabio Attard, the General Councilor for Youth Ministry of the Salesian Congregation, the participants re-found the treasure of the Salesian Preventive System, the values of Educative and Pastoral Community and the commitment of the Salesian Family to the well-being of the young.

Attending input sessions, sharing experiences, prayers, meals as well as good night talks, the participants have experienced the transformation of their knowledge and hidden potentialities as members of a great family, that of St. Don Bosco, St. Mazzarello, and Blessed Rinaldi.

The transformation process has been launched in the province. As old and new challenges for Salesian mission are taking place under their eyes, the seminar is a humble small step towards the formation of “insieme” mentality among Salesian Family members. Together, we bear witness to the charism of Salesian Educators and Pastors, working together for the young as the Church has called in the past as well as in the present with the coming Synod on the Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment.
