Intercommission seminar of Formation and Youth Ministry
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, 27 August 2017 -- In line of the commitment of the Salesian Province of Vietnam-Mongolia to enter the new phase of its services to the young in need within their educational centers/schools, the Commissions of Formation and Youth Ministry organized a 4-day Seminar to update their practical trainees with pedagogical skills as these confreres are being completely involved in educating and ministering the students in their respective boarding or parish schools.
Twenty one practical trainees underwent the seminar which was held in the light of competency-based formation process. Under the guidance of two lay specialists in pedagogical field [one Ph.D. professor, former President of the Academy of Pedagogy, and a Ph.D. candidate, University of Technological Pedagogy], the participants were requested to produce some “touchable” curricula which covered all the skills necessary for teachers in the classroom setting.
Most of the participants were very pleased with the short but rich in content of the seminar and hope to bring their updated knowledge and skills in this new academic year of 2017-18.
