Clifton Hill Melbourne, Australia, 24 March 2024 -- The Ministry of Reader holds a special place in the hearts of those who are called to proclaim the Word of God. It is a responsibility that requires dedication, humility, and a deep sense of reverence for the teachings of the Church. The installation of three Salesian Confreres to this Ministry at the Salesian Formation Community in Clifton Hill was a momentous occasion, witnessed by Formators, Brothers, and members of the Provincial Council.

Brother Foua Junior Tea Peato, Brother Sitagisilao Moeloa Vaipuna and Brother Afia Enosa were officially installed to the Ministry of Reader during the Eucharistic Celebration led by Father Phillip Gleeson (Vice-Provincial), accompanied by Father Anthony Dung Nguyen (Rector), Father Cassius Correya (Parish Priest), Father Nuku Lafai, Father Frank Freeman, Father Peter Carroll (Economer) and Father Peter Verengo, where Brothers Foua Junior Tea Peato, Sitagisilao Moeloa Vaipuna, and Afia Enosa were officially installed to the Ministry of Reader. Father Phillip reminded the newly appointed confreres of the importance of respecting and embracing the Word of God, boldly proclaiming it to others, and ensuring that their own lives are a reflection of the teachings they share.

He encouraged the three confreres to stay grounded in prayer and to live out the teachings of the Word of God in their daily lives. It is not enough to simply proclaim the Word; it must be lived authentically and with hope, in order to truly touch the hearts of those who hear it.

The Eucharistic Celebration was made even more special with the participation of hymns prepared by the brothers, adding a sense of joy and community to the event. The installation was followed by a celebratory dinner prepared by the community.

As these three brothers embark on this new journey of ministry, may they be guided and supported by the grace of God and the intercessions of our Blessed Mother Mary. May they find strength in their faith and wisdom in their discernment. Let us all keep them in our prayers, as they navigate the challenges and joys of their new roles within the community and the Church.
