Anisakan, Myanmar, 23 September 2023 -- On September 16, 2023, at 06:30 a.m., a selected group of people were gathered in the chapel of St. Joseph at the Provincialate to witness the diaconate ordination of Justin Aung Htet Zaw, SDB who was ordained deacon by Archbishop Marku Tin Win (the bishop of the Archdiocese of Mandalay). Present were a few Salesian priests and brothers, Salesian novices, FMAs, and religious from different congregations nearby. Something that made the ceremony more solemn and special was the Latin Choir led by one of the most senior confrere, Fr. Eward Sein Myint, SDB, singing throughout the Mass.
At the end of the Mass, the newly ordained deacon offered a thoughtful address, thanking God who has called him to the holy Salesian vocation, his parents who have encouraged him to join the Salesian congregation, to the formators and superiors who have guided him, and to all his family members and friends who have supported him in different means and ways. Together with the vice-province of Myanmar, the parents of the newly ordained deacon rejoiced over the son as they gave thanks and praise to the Good Lord.
