Seoul, S. Korea, 15 July 2023 -- There was a joyful celebration at the chapel of the provincial house in Korea Province on 15 July 2023. Fr Dominic Savio Hyung Seok Kim, SDB, was ordained to the priesthood, and Rev. Joseph Yun Min Shin, SDB, to the diaconate.
Most Reverend Job Yobi Ku, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Seoul, presided over the ordination ceremony for the confreres. His homily was worth dwelling on that. He explained the rules for a Priest and deacon within the Catholic Church, and what is the life of the priest and deacon in the Congregation.
The new priest, Fr Dominic Savio Hyung Seok Kim, chose the Word that guided his life as a priest: “Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."(Mt 28:20) He thanked everyone who prayed for him and he said that he would live as a happy Salesian.
The ordination Mass was concelebrated by Fr Timothy Won Cheol Choi, SDB (Provincial), and other priest confreres, including Fr Daniel who is the spiritual director of the new priest from Italy and was present at the Mass.
