Seoul, Korea, 16 October 2023 -- The retreat for parents of SDBs took place in the provincial house from 16-16 October. The retreat is held once a year in the Salesian community. Fr. Bonaventure Kim, the coordinator of the retreat, said that all Salesians hope they arrived at unity and meaningful communion through the retreat, in God and in Don Bosco.
The retreat began with an evening prayer led by Salesians in the chapel. After the prayer and dinner, some programs were followed in the lecture room. The parents took a break from their daily lives for a while with the Salesians. They also took time to listen to spiritual lectures and pray for the Congregation and their son’s Salesian vocation.
We believe that the parents of Salesians are the best and most reliable supporters. It is essential that the province has a primary duty to form Salesians, but it must not neglect to keep a constant interest in their parents. In this sense, the retreat is a very meaningful time for the province, all Salesians, and the parents.
