       Comoro, Dili Timor-Leste, 25 May 2022 -- On 22 May 2022 Abp. Virgílio do Carmo da Silva, SDB conferred the sacrament of Confirmation upon the six hundred and sixty-three young Catholics in the Salesian parish of Mary Help of Christians Comoro, Dili. After a suitable period of formation and learning, these young men and women finally reached their special moment of receiving the Holy Spirit. The parish priest, Fr. João Roque, SDB accompanied by some Salesian priests, the confirmands and the faithful, welcomed the Archbishop of Dili into the church. After a short prayer, the Archbishop presided over the Eucharist. In his homily, Abp. Virgílio reminded the confirmands and the faithful that they were in the eighth day of the novena to Our Lady Help of Christians and how to be good Christians as well as young people due to the sacrament they were going to receive. In order to become a good man or a woman, one should have a special relationship with God. As stated in the gospel, to become a good christian, one must remain in the love of Christ. Loving Christ is to keep his commandments. Upon receiving the sacrament, the confirmands are given special strength to be witnesses, proclaimers and defenders of the faith. After the Mass, there was a thanksgiving presentation and a dinner offered to all participants by the confirmands.
