Fuiloro, Timor-Leste, 12 March 2019 -- Timor-Leste vice province normally has a Rectors’ meeting monthly. The Rectors’ meeting is one way of helping the provincial in his service of animation and governance of the province. The Rectors’ meeting for the month of March was held in Don Bosco Fuiloro Community at the most eastern part of the country. At 9 A.M Tuesday March 12, the Rectors from 10 canonically erected houses and the Salesian in charge of two presences gathered at the Audio-Visual Hall of Don Bosco Fuiloro. Then, the opening prayer was said, followed by the opening remarks from Fr Apolinario Maria Ornai Neto, SDB – the Provincial of TLS province.
In this Rectors’ meeting Fr João da Costa Boavida, SDB was invited by the Provincial to give a talk to the Rectors regarding Chapter V of the Salesian Youth Ministry Frame of Reference. He shared with the Rectors regarding the importance of the educative and pastoral community as our way of being church and doing the mission. He emphasized the role of the Rectors not just as Rectors for the SDBs but Rectors for the mission. This means a Rector should be a father, teacher and friend to the SDBs, members of the Salesian family, our lay collaborators and above all the young people who are at the center of our mission. Aside from that he also presented the draft of the OPP and SEPP to the Rectors. Then the floor was opened for dialogue. This Rectors’ encounter is full of fraternal sharing and enrichment.
