(22 jeunes filles ont assisté au jeune programme de filles tenu sur 9ème et le 10 février, 2001 à met la Chambre Don Bosco de la
Prière, West Kola Ridge. Les participants ont grêlé de cinq paroisses dans l'Archdiocese de la paroisse de Honiara - de Tetere, de la paroisse de Kukum, de la paroisse de Tangarare, de la paroisse de Visale et de la paroisse de Manivovo. Ils étaient de l'âge 15 à 27. " Les sessions ont traité les matières qui nous étaient très utiles de jeunes filles de se découvrir - en tant que des personnes et pour accepter nos bonnes et mauvaises expériences de la vie ", exprimé Madalene Pilumate et Marianne Lui. " Il a m'encourager à vivre une bonne vie chrétienne ", a dit Matilda Raomae. " il m'aide  à évaluer ma culture pour lui forme ma vie ", Cynthia Samane indiquée.)

HONIARA 22nd Feb -- 22 Young girls attended the Young Girls programme held on 9th and 10th February, 2001 at Don Bosco House of Prayer, west Kola Ridge. The participants hailed from five  parishes within the Archdiocese of Honiara - Tetere Parish, Kukum Parish, Tangarare Parish, Visale Parish and Manivovo Parish. They aged from 15 to 27 years old.  All the participants were interested and participated fully in all the sessions. It was sad to see them express helplessness at the fact that they are unable to do much about their valuable culture and traditions being run over today.

"The sessions dealt with topics that were very helpful to us young girls to discover ourselves - as a persons and to accept our good and bad experiences in life", expressed Madalene Pilumate and Mariana Lui.  "It has encouraging me to live a good Christian life", said Matilda Raomae. "It helps me to value my Culture for it shapes my life", stated Cynthia Samane. 

The programme was conducted by the Salesians and the DMI Sisters.  The animators of the programme were Fr. Ambrose Pereira sdb, Sr. Ceciliana Olilaeni, Sr. Madalena Maduka, Sr. Anna Ngosana, Sr.Alice Nabata, Sr.Nellie Arepuru and Sr. Bernadette
Maropo.  

A repeat of this programme will be held on 23rd and 24th February, 2001. The animators invite participants to attend this programme for it will help them to become good leaders in their family and community.  Participants of this programme will also have the possibility of attending a deepening of this input in the months ahead. The animators are also hopeful that the participants of this programme are able to reach out to others in their Parishes and communities.
