Cardinal-elect Zen on BBC Radio - you can listen to it now
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/networks/wservice/aod.shtml?wservice/reportingreligion

LONDON: 5th March 2006 -- Thanks to a communique from Rualink (UK), we know that the BBC has just interviewed Cardinal-elect Zen and clicking the above link will bring up that interview, about five minutes of it, where he responds to questions on how he responds to China's comment that he not be involved in politics - he gives a simple and convincing answer to that one!  He is asked about the situation of Chinese Catholics and also about his feelings on hearing of his appointment.  He neatly sidesteps the question as to what his preference would be - stay on in Hong Kong as Bishop after next year's 'retirement' date, or come to Rome.
The same interview includes some reactions to the appointment and then moves on to a fascinating interview with members of a Franciscan mixed monastic community in Italy, further commented on by Australian Jesuit and professor at the Gregorian, Fr Gerry O'Collins.  And then, why not keep listening to the programme just a little longer, because after a rather longer interview with the Archbishop of Abouja in Nigeria, and a professor from Lagos on Christian-Muslim relations we find ourselves in Bollywood.
The Bollywood segment concerns a new feature film which is making an impact in India, produced by Divine Word priest Dominic Emmanuel.  The film, called Aisa Kyo Hota Hai, presents a public health message on HIV/AIDS but also on communal disharmony, two issues confronting India.  You will find this interview a lucid explanation as to why the Church has chosen this method of getting a message through...especially when the message contains the controversial ABC approach.  For more on this you need to listen to the interview.
