Strenna 2006 and other useful support materials now available
ROME: 2 August 2005 -- A collection of powerpoint presentations that can be used in community and with the Salesian Family, is now available on www.bosconet.aust.com . These are support materials which present messages and explanations of these messages in an easily viewable format.
Strenna 2006 follows the pattern adopted by the present Rector Major Fr Chavez, in that as well as providing a central theme for the year, he then offers a pastoral proposal. The 2006 Strenna concerns our support for the family especially in the light of the 150th anniversary of Mamma Margaret's death. The pastoral proposal is a set of practical suggestions and recommendations from the Rector Major - how to put the strenna into practice.
Besides the two items above, there are two other powerpoint presentations: The new Salesian logo, and the Salesian Creed (taken from GC23). The logo explanation is accompanied by two mp3 files, and the presentation will only play the files at the appropriate time if you have downloaded all three (logo presentation and mp3 files x 2) into the one folder. They will not work if you simply open the presentation within your browser online - and you would only be doing that anyway if you had good bandwidth and uninterrupted access.
All four presentations (plus the extra files for the Logo) may take a little time for each to download, but it is worth the time and the cost if you intend to make use of them for Salesian formation and animation purposes. The items can be plundered in various ways if you simply want elements of them; the pics, perhaps, or the music files!
You may need to refresh (IE users) or reload (Firefox users) your browser on first entering. You will find the above items under Salesian Family and Communication resources on the right hand side of the homepage. And why not check out the What's New page as well to remind yourself of the many other formation and animation items added over the past month.
