MELBOURNE: 23 May 2012 - The Salesian sisters celebrated the feast of their co-foundress, St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello, on Sunday 13th May at St Jude the Apostle church in Scoresby, Victoria. The Mass was presided by Fr. John Prest SDB, and concelebrated by Fr. Pasileo Tavaga SDB, Fr. Will Matthews SDB and Fr. Joseph Danh Truong the assistant priest of the parish.

All Salesian Sisters from Australia, Samoa, American Samoa and Solomon Islands are having a Chapter meeting at their convent in Scoresby. The Regional leader of the Salesian sisters, Sr Kathleen Taylor, is currently in Melbourne for a canonical visitation and to be with the Sisters for the Chapter.

This year, the Sisters are specially blessed to have their Mother General, Sr. Yvonne Reungoat, with them for a few days.

The Mother General was at the Mass on Sunday with the Sisters. All Sisters renewed their vows after the homily during Mass. After the communion, the Mother General thanked all the parishioners for all their support to the Salesian Sisters and their work.

Light refreshments were served in the school hall after Mass. Some Salesian Co-operators, lay leaders and youth leaders were also present at the Mass and the reception.
