Vietnam.... Mission Days with Fr Klement
by Bro. Ephrem Santos (ITM)

HCM City: 24 November 2010 -- Fr Klement passed through Vietnam for a missionary animation visit (November 14-19) and spent wonderful days witnessing the missionary zeal of this province which has offered more than 60 Salesians for the missions in recent times, including the 11 missionaries who received the missionary crucifix last October in Turin.
By coincidence, Bro. Ephrem Santos sdb from ITM who was on a technical visit to Saigon and Dalat, was also invited by the Provincial of Vietnam, (Fr Hoa Hung Tran) to join Fr Klement for the Mission Days with the aspirants and postnovitiate confreres in Dalat and another day with the novices and theologians in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Mission Days were held in Dalat and in Saigon to make it easier for the Salesians to come together. The event was led by Fr. Provincial and assisted by the Viet Mission Commission with a variety of activities to meet each other and offer information about the confreres in the missions, praying for the missions, meeting with the parents of the missionaries, talking about the early missionaries and holy pioneers of Vietnam,  and keeping the "fire" alive in the young confreres and even among the numerous aspirants of the different Salesian centres. It is amazing how all these activities were packed into a whole day activity... As is usual in Salesian settings, a Brass Band, songs, plays, picture-taking and a hearty lunch were familiar ways to complement the Holy Mass, prayers and reflections on the Missions.
