Don Bosco Henderson (SI) graduates celebrate

HENDERSON (SI): 26th November 2006 -- State authorities, Church and educational leaders, parents and friends, joined hearts and spirits in thanking God for the gift of 62 well trained youngsters at the DBTI Henderson both from its Secondary Technical School and from its Training Center. Another 30 young people graduated last week in the Don Bosco RTC agro-technology course.
The celebration started with the Eucharist presided over by His Grace Archbishop Adrian Smith, SM. In his homily he emphasized on how Christ came to proclaim the good news to those who had lost hope. Just as Christ announced and brought a new chance to those who were deprived of the opportunity to grow (the poor), so Don Bosco has proclaimed the same good news: you, who were once hopeless, now have regained hope thanks to the second chance afforded you. The same thoughts were expressed by one of the studen representatives while touchingly expressing his gratitude to the school and the parents: “I was a nobody and now I have become a somebody,  a new self with pride, dignity and new hope”
The Governor General thanked the Catholic Church who through Don Bosco has offered new opportunities to deserving youth to serve the country in the growing need for skilled and trained workers and challenged the staff, parents and school community to continue serving the country through such a prestigious institute as the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Henderson.
The tears shed on the stage and in the privacy of the back stage both by parents and students testify the genuine and sincere sentiments of young people who found dignity and a sense of pride in the values for life and skills for a living received at Don Bosco Technical Institute at Henderson.
We cannot but feel the hand of God in this Institution and experience and be grateful to Him. He planned it all to show our youth that he exists, that he is love and to love the way he loves gives meaning and fulfillment to life.
