Salesian Spirituality Days in Japan
TOKYO: 13 February 2012 -- The Salesian Spirituality Days held each year in Rome at the General House and which function at 'world' level, are by now a fixture, as well as bearers of good spiritual results.  But many provinces, too, are working along similar lines.

On 11-12 February at Suginami, Tokyo, members of the Salesian Family took part in the annual seminar on Salesian spirituality.  There were 100 of them, and on the morning of the first day they listened to Fr John Marsiglio, who addressed them on the question of the Charismatic Identity of the Salesian Family, aka the Salesian Family Identity Charter, published for the moment in Italian (other translations have already been prepared but given the official nature of the document, have yet to be approved).

The afternoon saw participants working in groups, tackling the same content.

The entire group met again on Sunday afternoon, where Fr Paul Mishima Shin presented the key elements of the Rector Major's Commentary on the 2012 Strenna, the DVD of which was screened then in a Japanese-dubbed version. The assembly then once again broke into groups to explore the content they had just been presented with.

Breaks and meals provided ample opportunity for fellowship amongst the various Salesian Family Group members, and this has helped to increase the sense of belonging to the Family.

On the 25th and 26th of this same month, the same event will be repeated in Japan's south, at Beppu, for the Salesian Family members in the Kyushu region.
