Word Made Flesh Foundation Inc: Salesian biblicist turns Tele-evangelist
 
MANILA: 5th Sept. '04 --  Fr. Jun Lingard SDB has always been in the forefront of making the Word of God understood and felt by as many people as possible. It has always been his dream that God’s Word

become part of our everyday life by living and experiencing it. To this end and out of love for God

and neighbor, he has set up the Word Made Flesh Foundation, Inc. to make this dream a reality.  It has gone to air, both radio and tv, this 4th September for the first time in its own right as a Foundation. 

 

Fr. Jun has held various positions in the course of his forty years of  Salesian life. He was Dean of the College of Philosophy (Canlubang), Dean of Engineering (Don Bosco Mandaluyong), Parish Priest in Don Bosco Tondo. He is the present President of Don Bosco Center of Studies (DBCS-Parañaque) and Rector of the Rinaldi Community running the DBCS.  His academic achievements include Bachelor of Science of Education (Don Bosco College, Canlubang), Master of Education (De La Salle University), Licentiate of Sacred Theology (University of Santo Tomas), Licentiate of Sacred Scripture (Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome) and Doctorate in Sacred Theology (Pontifical Gregorian UniversityRome).

 

Fr. Jun's biblical apostolate has been carried out teaching Scriptures in the theology department of DBCS, conducting Bible Study in St. John Bosco Parish (Makati) and Sto Niño Chapel (Greenbelt, Makati), preaching biblical retreats, giving bible seminars and regularly handling the “Word Alive” portion in the TV program: “Sharing in the City”, the longest-running Catholic TV program in the Philippines: 23 years, RPN 9) and now by hosting his brand new TV show: “Word Made Flesh" a 90-minute “Bible Study on the Air”, aired through the Divine Mercy Channel in Destiny Cable [ch. 55] and Dream Satellite at 4-5:30 pm.  From Sept. 4ththe Foundation began airing its "Word made Flesh" programme over Manila's ABC 5, telecast every Saturday from 8-9 am.  This TV show aims to prepare the Faithful for the Sunday liturgy and to help priests, lay ministers and catechists who need to share God's Word with the people.
