EAO Brothers celebrate Zatti in FIN

PARANAQUE: 14 November 2012 --  On 13 November the EAO Salesian Brothers Formation Center (a sector of the Seminaryo ng Don Bosco) in Paranaque solemnly celebrated the feast of Blessed Zatti. Fr Chrys Saldanha, SDB, the main celebrant, graced the occasion with his presence. In his homily he shared an inspiring reflection on the life of Bl. Zatti and gave some thoughts for the brothers to ponder on about their vocation and present state.

Fr Chrys Saldanha, SDB, who is to attend formation meetings in Don Bosco Batulao these coming days, took some time to get to know the situation of the newly established center for the specific formation of the Salesian Brothers. He toured the place, talked with the formators and met all the Salesian Brothers of the region where they shared their experiences in the community. He took some time to ask questions about Salesian Brothers and the Congregation. In the evening, a special Vietnamese dinner was prepared by the Brothers themselves.

Br. Mon Callo, SDB, the Brother Formator of the region, in his good night talk to cap the day, talked about Don Bosco’s pedagogy of festivity; that our devotion to the saints should not be left just in asking graces but should go deeper by imitating their virtuous life. Bl. Zatti is a clear sign to us that sanctity can be attained as a Salesian Brother.

The celebration was the culmination of a nine-day preparation, a novena, where each brother shared his reflections on the virtuous Salesian life of Br. Zatti. It aimed to help each one of them to prepare themselves for the feast. Information and pictures about Zatti’s life were displayed at the Don Bosco Center of Studies to heighten the awareness of the students about the Salesian Brother vocation.

Currently, there are 9 Salesian Brothers in the center (1 FIN, 1 THA, 3 MYM, 4 VIE). This is the first year of its operation and we look forward to more Salesian Brothers coming from the region. Let us pray for more Salesian Brother vocations!
