Hong Kong Salesians prepare young people for Cologne World Youth Day

HONG KONG: 9th February 2005 -- Preparations for World Youth Day 2005 in Cologne, are hotting up all over the world. We learn, for example, that a group are already preparing to come from Myanmar, hoping to scrape together the required funds for both the trip and the accommodation.

From Hong Kong comes the news of a formation course put together by the Salesians for young people in all their institutions - schools, youth centres and the like, to encourage many young people to tackle the important themes of the WYD 'at home' but also to prepare those who will go on pilgrimage to Cologne in August.

Fr Andrew Fung, principal at Tan King Po School and in charge of Youth Ministry in the SDB Province encouraged those who attended the event to be shining stars of example for their peers, young evangelisers in the style of St John Bosco.
