S
alesian China Province: Past Pupil tribute at Centenary Charity and Thanksgiving Dinner

HONG KONG: 23rd November 2005 --  As one alumni said in his sharing: "in the past one hundred years, so many alumni have receivededucation and love from the Salesians and Sisters. It is time for us now to hand down and transmit what we have received to the young people in China. This is what we call ‘Love Relay’. In this way, the Spirit of our Founder, Don Bosco, will be kept alive forever".
The occasion was the Salesian Family China Province
Centenary Charity and Thanksgiving Dinner on October 15 at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Hong Kong. The purpose of the function was threefold: First of all, to enhance the Spirit of unity within the Salesian Family; secondly, to show gratitude towards the SalesiansFMA and SAL Sisters who have dedicated their whole life to God and for young people; thirdly, to raise funds for the education of needy young people in China.
This Charity & Thanksgiving Dinner provided a superb opportunity for alumni and friends of the Salesian Family to gather together in friendliness, joy, gratitude and especially in one heart to show their care and concern for the needy and abandoned youth in ChinaThe evening's program was entertaining and well planned: it included a touching DVD show about the Centre for poor youngsters in China. The Salesian Youth also entertained and rejuvenated the guests with their action songs and break-dance. A chorus of the Salesian Family led by theProvincial, Fr. Savio Hon Tai-Fai brought the atmosphere of the evening to its climax
Nowadays, with fund-raising not so easy, the evening succeeded in raising a considerable amount of money for the designated purpose. The China Province is fortunate to have very many alumni and friends who acknowledge the Don Bosco's charism and his Salesians' work for poor and abandoned youth and who are generous, prompt and ever ready to answer a call.
