Message from the Regional, and other matters

ROME: 3rd January 2009 -- The EAO Blog has now been in existence for some months.  In keeping with the sdb.org policy regarding blogs, the EAO blog has more than one person who can post, and authorise comment publication.  Several others prefer not to bother with the (minor) complications of posting, but are happy to send their posts to one of those authorised to do so. We are gaining experience in how to manage a blog within an institutional context.
Fr Andy Wong is happy to use this means for occasional messages, and a message for the Region is currently available for anyone who would like to see it.
    austraLasia 2009
As a new year begins, you may find it of interest to go back over the austraLasia news for 2009.  Taken as a whole it offers an interesting insight into a region.  The most accurate and complex search can be made from the SDL austraLasia collection.
    Salesians 2010
There is yet another item of interest for the Region.  As you would know, the first edition of 'Salesians 2010' has been printed and is in distribution at the moment for Provinces which ordered copies. If you would like it available in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Bahasa or any other language you care to mention from the Region, and if you think you would have a reasonable print-run in those languages to bring your costs down, you are welcome to the files from which you can translate.  We have the files in Quark and EPS formats.  Since they are very heavy (perhaps 100Mb per language) the only realistic way to receive them is by sending you a CD or DVD with the essential files.  You simply need to ask.
