Dalat, Viet Nam, October 28, 2015 - ‘The Journey of Joint Love’ was a charity program held in Don Bosco Dalat community by the evening Oct 26 2015 on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of Tu Tam voluntary group.

There was the presence of Fr Jos Nguyen chan Hung SDB, Rector of the community, the Salesians in the community, the sisters, the representatives of local Red Cross, the members of Tu Tam group, about 400 students of ‘Fire of Love group’, and the children of charity classes of the community.

Tu Tam voluntary group is an organization which raise fund from benefactors and businessmen. To their monthly schedule, they go to the nursing homes, orphanages, shelters of the blind and of the deaf to share help and support. Especially they often go far away to the peripheries of the town to reach very poor children and minority people together with Dalat Red Cross.

In this evening they distribute 20 scholarships, $90 each, for poor college students, 7 bicycles for poor students of Quang Trung secondary school, and 60 other gifts like books, clothes, study aids for poor children of Don Bosco classes.

They brought happiness to poor children and students to help them continue to go to school.

Mr. Le Thanh Bao, a member of Dalat Red Cross said : “Like Salesian fathers and brothers here, we aim to share love to the poor, especially the young. We become the bridge between the benefactors and the poor children and we formed a group named Tu Tam (Good Heart) to do this. We want to reach everywhere, to anybody especially the poorest.”

The children and students were very moved when receiving the gifts, not only by money or material value but by love.

Ms Xuan Vy, a student of Dalat university, expressed her happiness and said: “It’s a big supprise for me when I am called to receive the scholarship. I’m happy because with this help I can go on my study.”

Fr Jos Nguyen chan Hung talked to the students : “ I wish you would achieve great success in future. You should not forget then the good hearts of benefactors. At that time, it’s your turn to share with those who are in need of you, especially the young. We, Salesian fathers and brothers wish you happiness. You also have to be grateful to the members of this voluntary group.

Several interesting dances and songs were performed by the students of Dalat university and of Don Bosco Dalat on the stage of the community. There was also an attractive performance of the magician Nguyen Cuong in this gathering.
