Youth Ministry Delegates called to Hong Kong Feb 2006

ROME: 31 July 2005 -- The General Councillor for Youth Ministry and the Regional Councillor for EAO have jointly issued a call to Provincial Youth Ministry Delegates to prepare for a meeting in Hong Kong from 608 February 2006.  This meeting will follow the earlier gathering in Melbourne (Lysterfield) 2003.  Provincials from the region will also be in Hong Kong at that time and will join the group for one of the scheduled three days.
Youth Ministry delegates are asked, in the jointly signed letter, to begin a remote preparatory stage by reflecting with their team on two items - the pastoral model that has been proposed by the Department over this six year period, and the follow-up letter issued by the General Councillor Fr Antonio Domenech, after the Melbourne meeting.
The convocation letter, the Pastoral Model and the follow-up letter are all available on www.bosconet.aust.com on the Youth Ministry page.  The convocation letter is being mailed separately to Youth Ministry provincial delegates, but the other two items, one a power point presentation the other a letter, are available only online at the address indicated above.  In the case of the pastoral model presentation, a power point version in Japanese is also available there.
Delegates are asked to reflect, with their teams, on the two items, the 'model' and the Melbourne follow-up letter, and to respond to a serious of simple questions in writing by 15 October 2005.  These responses are to be forwarded directly to adomenech@sdb.org .  Essentially they are being asked to determine if elements of the model have been implemented and if not, what have been the difficulties in doing so.  They are also asked to contribute their own perceptions of the role of the delegate within provincial animation in their context.
Following receipt of these reflections, the YM Department will then indicate a proximate stage of preparation between November and February.
