Hoa An, Viet Nam, 26 November 2017 -- On Sunday Nov. 26, Don Bosco Hoa An officially opened the annual Winter football Championship. This was also for celebrating Christmas 2017. It has been a traditional football championship which Don Bosco Hoa An have organized in the recent years for the nearby parishes and sub-parishes, together with other villages in Hop Duc commune, North Viet Nam.
There were eight football teams of the young joining this year football championship. They were not only coming from nearby parishes or sub-parishes, but also coming from other religions. This was the purpose of this Salesian community of Hoa An. Through these sports, they could be able to bring the Good News to other people. Present at the openning ceremony were the different members of eight football teams, and some distinguished guests: Several priests from nearby parishes, the President of Hop Duc commune, Heads of different villages, and the members of the Pastoral council of Hoa An Parish.
At 14:30, Fr. Jos. Nguyen Tri Dung SDB, the one in charge of Hoa An Youth Center and also the head of organizers of this football season, delivered his openning speech and officially gave the signal to start this Winter football Championship. The President of Hop Duc commune also gave some greeting words and offered flowers for the organizers. After that, the referee and football players also took oath of playing fair in this football season. Right after the openning ceremony was the first football match with cheerful atmosphere from football players and the audience.
The openning day was so beautiful and interesting. This was a good sign for a promising Winter football Championship of this year for the young.
