Global Compact on Education

Inspired by Pope Francis

2021

Dear Friend

Here is the official document on Global Compact on Educational

suggestions placed by Pope Francis in a meeting of 450 Leaders

of education globally. I was fortunate enough to be part of the

3 day meeting on Global Compact recently.

This document is an eye opener to all especially, Catholic Educators.

The 7 points Pope placed here for our reflection and discernment help us globally to be pioneers of education in this changing times.

The 7 Commitments for Global Compact on Education are as follow:

1. To make human persons the Centre.

2. To listen to the voices of Children and young people.

3. To advance the women.

4. To empower the family.

5. To welcome all.

6. To find new ways of understanding economy and politics.

7. To safeguard our common home.

Pope Francis asks us all to do thematic research

on the following areas with urgency.

1. Dignity and Human Rights

2. Fraternity and cooperation

3. Technology and Integral Ecology.

4. Peace and citizenship

5. Cultures and religions

These areas of serious study will give Catholic education the much needed impetus to contribute to the world at large.

Global Compact on Education is to rekindle our dedication f

or and with young people, renewing our passion for a more open

and inclusive education, including patient listening, constructive

dialogue and better mutual understanding.

Let us discern our educational endeavours and

revitalise it by taking up the Global Compact seriously.
