It is interesting to note that it appears usually in reference to formation (e.g. in the Ratio, several times, as in the case of the intellectual formation of the Salesian priest who, amongst other things, is to be given a "firm grounding in 'Salesianity'", or where it requests the "preparation of experts in Salesianity".
Elsewhere it might refer to a specific collection of literature. This is already hinted at in AGC 332: "Despite these, the literature on salesianity in the first thirty years of the present century was rather scarce. You had to dig up the material for yourself, so to speak. It is symptomatic of Don Rinaldi that he was aware of this, and he took it upon himself to remedy the situation as far as he was able". Or, in more recent times, when Fr Chávez is describing the West Europe region in some detail in AGC382 and speaks of the Salesian Publishing Houses in Portugal and Spain (Madrid) as having "specialisation in Salesianity":)
