Vatican Council II mandated a Ratio for preparation of candidates to the priesthood, and subsequently al for the Permanent Diaconate. In the renewal of consecrated life that flourished after the Council, all Congregations developed a Ratio. The first Salesian Ratio was published in 1985 and revised in 2000.:)
