Port Moresby, PNG, 19 April 2025 -- On Thursday, April 17th, Don Bosco Technical School, Gabutu observed the Stations of the Cross around the central park, commemorating the suffering and death of Christ on His way to Calvary. The entire school paused as Fr. Ambrose Pereira, SDB, Parish Priest of MHC-Sabama, led the procession. He was accompanied by Jordan Pomat, the School Representative Council (SRC) President and narrator, the knights of the altar, and representatives from each year level and staff who carried the Holy Cross to the stations.
The school reflected and prayed at each station, which depicted Christ's suffering and death while prompting silence for personal reflection. The stations conveyed meaningful gestures and messages. Miss Rica and grade 12 students provided hymn accompaniments, creating a reflective atmosphere throughout the event. The Stations of the Cross with the hymn "Above All Powers."
In his closing remarks, Fr. Ambrose thanked Fr. Albert and the Pastoral team and all the celebrations for the weeks past. He reminded them that the gift of Christ is free and our passion for Christ enables us to be good examples and ‘Witness to Christ the Light’ in their homes and families. "Christ cannot be bought, but can only be sold by sin", he said.
All were encouraged to be part of the liturgical celebrations in their parish communities.
