Cau Bong, Vietnam, 31 March 2025 -- The Salesian Don Bosco Province of Vietnam organized a gathering for altar servers in Saigon on 29 March 2025, at the Dominic Savio Cau Bong Community. The event aimed to provide a healthy playground and an opportunity for altar servers to interact and learn from each other.
The gathering featured the presence of Father Peter Nguyen Viet Quang Minh, Salesian Brother Dominic Nguyen Vo Ha Anh, Father Joseph Doan Hai Dang, other priests, brothers, and over 300 altar servers from 17 parishes and youth centers. Themed “Witnesses of Hope” the event began with an opening ceremony and a talk by Father Dominic Savio Nguyen Huy Khiem, who encouraged the altar servers to be witnesses of hope through their daily joy.
The day included a commemorative photo session, a Mass, and various activities such as quizzes, games, and a competition on the Jubilee Year. The event concluded with a speech by Father Joseph Doan Hai Dang and a sending-off ceremony.
The gathering aimed to foster connections among altar servers, help them discover their abilities, and encourage them to live the Jubilee Year of Hope meaningfully. The event was supported by benefactors, collaborators, and various associations, ensuring its success. The community expressed gratitude and prayed for blessings and health for all supporters.
