Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar, 11th of March 2025 - “The closing day of the 2024-2025 Academic Year” began with the Holy Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Mariano Soe Naing, SDB, at 10 A.M. at Don Bosco Philosophate, Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar.
There were 10 concelebrants (Regional Superiors of the Franciscans (OFM), Servites, MSP (missionaries of St. Paul), and FMM (Franciscan Missionaries of Mary), plus Salesian priests from Anisakan who had been teaching the Students in some subjects). Some Students led the Prayer of the Faithful in different languages, including one in Latin. Fr. Mariano spoke on the meaning and portent of our words and said to take care to transform the words of philosophers into personally meaningful words of life.
After the Mass, there was a programme of wishing and thanking the Professors and visitors by different batches of Students; a PowerPoint presentation by Fr. Francis Zau Din on the scholastic and social activities of the Students was informative and entertaining. Then, there was the presentation of the Certificates to the Graduates (III Year) by Fr. Rector of Don Bosco Philosophate, Fr. Bosco Aung Zaw Win, SDB. There were 23 Graduates in all (9 Servites, 2 MSP, 4 FMM, and 8 SDB); in the coming Scholastic Year, we also expect some Students from the La Salette.
As a closing word, Fr. Rector encouraged the Graduates to turn their knowledge into wisdom for life. A good lunch was offered to all.
