Cebu City, 9 February 2025 - - The Sinulog Foundation which is comprised of officials from the Cebu City government and heads of other local government units awarded a plaque of recognition to the Zatti Friends Club for their service during the Sinulog festivities. The yearly celebration of the Holy Child brings millions of pilgrims and partygoers to the city and with it the challenge of crowd control and first aid.
Zatti Friends, an association of youth first aiders and responders, is a member of the Salesian Youth Movement. The group helped out in the daunting task of providing security and care during the Sinulog with other volunteer groups under the direction of the Department of Health.
The recognition and awarding were done at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel with the City Mayor, Hon. Raymond Garcia, personally handing out the awards. This is the first time that a Salesian youth group is recognized by the city for its contribution to health and safety and a testament to the enduring spirit of volunteerism and charity in the Salesian Youth Movement.
