Bangkok, Thailand, 13 February 2025 -- On 11 February 2025, Don Bosco Technological College - Bangkok held the official opening of the Mechatronics and Robotics Department, honored by the presence of Mr. Alexander Leutgeb, Second Secretary for Economic Affairs, German Embassy Bangkok, and Mr. Marius Mehner, Deputy Executive Director & Head of the Department of Corporate Services, German-Thai Chamber of Commerce. The event was also attended by Father Boonlert Paneetatthayasai, the Provincial, Father Phonchit Phoolvithayakij, Rector, Father John Lissandrin, the Don Bosco Alumni Association, and other distinguished guests.

On this occasion, Father Boonlert Panitatthayasai, the Provincial Superior of Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, welcomed all the honorable guests and listened to messages from Mr. Marius Mehner and Mr. Alexander Leutgeb. Then, a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the department.

In addition, Don Bosco Technological College Bangkok opened a German Mechatronics and Robotics program in 2020. It is a 5-year continuous program and is the only vocational college in Thailand that uses a German standard dual curriculum. At the same time, students study for a Thai vocational certificate and a higher vocational diploma. After completing 5 years, the students receive 2 certificates: one from Germany and one from the Thai Ministry of Education. When the students in this department complete their third year, they intern at Pathum Thani Brewery Co., Ltd. (Boonrawd Brewery Co., Ltd.)

This project, a collaboration between many sectors, helps train Thai students to have skills and expertise in applying three main engineering disciplines: mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, and automation control engineering. It also integrates computer science and information technology so that students can design and manufacture modern parts and products.
