Anisakan, Myanmar(MYM), 10 February 2025 -- On 2 February 2025, the Salesian Youth Movement's activity was organized by the Salesian Youth Ministry's commission, under the supervision of the delegate Fr Mariano Soe Naing, SDB. The program led by Fr Paschal Thikoshin, SDB, as the master of the ceremony, started at 9:00 a.m., at the shrine of Mary Help of Christians, in Anisakan, Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar. Some 150 youth joyfully and actively participated in the event.
In the opening address, the superior Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi, SDB encouraged the young people to participate in SYM with the authentic love of the Movement and of the Church. At the same time, he also seriously advised them not to amplify the rumors about the Church, especially in the digital world, but, on the contrary, to be agents of peace and unity among the people. After that, Fr. Mariano gave a short talk about the nature of SYM and its distinct characteristics. In the Q & A session too, Fr. Mariano answered the questions of the youth with concrete explanations and clarifications. The Mass presided over by Fr. Bosco Nyi Nyi with 9 Salesian Priests, was celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
In the afternoon, after lunch, the young people got together again and enthusiastically shared their reflections, insights, and experiences with each other in small groups. As the end of the program approached, different youth groups presented their colorful dances on the stage. The program ended with word of thanks from Fr Mariano and the blessing of the priests present.
