Tokyo, Japan, 16 January 2025 -- On 11 and 12 January, the "Gathering of Collaborators (Mission Partners)" was held, bringing together 35 collaborators from different institutions throughout the country under the name of Don Bosco. These participants are people in positions of responsibility in their respective places of work.
The event began with an address by the Provincial, Fr Hamazaki. In his address, the Provincial emphasized: "This year is not only the Jubilee Year but also an important milestone, as it marks the 150th anniversary of the first dispatch of Salesian missionaries. It was during this period, 100 years ago, that nine missionaries, including Father Cimatti, were chosen as the first missionaries to Japan. As we reflect on our history, let us move forward together with hope for the next 100 years".
Presentations were then made by representatives of three institutions. They spoke of the blessings of working in an environment where Don Bosco's teachings come alive through daily interaction with students and young people. At the same time, they shared the struggles of overcoming the challenges of reality while striving to realize the ideals Don Bosco envisioned.
After the presentations, the participants were divided into groups to share their thoughts and ideas on the future direction of their institutions.
The event ended with Holy Eucharist, during which the participants expressed their gratitude and promised to meet again.
Throughout the meeting, the Salesian family spirit prevailed, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
