Phu Tho - Don Bosco Huong Tran, Vietnam, 18 November 2024 -- Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; (Psalm 127:1). On Saturday morning, 16 November 2024, Huong Tran Parish joyfully welcomed Bishop Dominic Hoang Minh Tien - Bishop of Hung Hoa Diocese to preside over the Thanksgiving Mass and place the foundation stone for construction of the Pastoral House.
The Delegate Superior, Father Thomas Vu Kim Long SDB, was present together with some twenty diocesan and Salesian priests, brothers and sisters, and the community of Huong Tran Parish.
At 8:30 a.m., Bishop Dominic solemnly commenced the ceremony of blessing the construction site and laying the first stone to start the construction. After the ceremony, the community entered the church to celebrate the Holy Mass.
In his homily, Bishop Dominic stressed the importance of building unity in the community. He emphasized that the Pastoral House is not only a material house but also a symbol of communion and the desire to serve God and improve the people in the parish. He also reminded the mission of evangelizing for the younger generations and preparing suitable facilities to create a solid foundation for the future of the parish.
We hope and pray to God that by blessing this project, the construction will progress and soon to be completed and to serve better for the people, especially the young people in the area.
