November 5, 2024, Calamba Catholic Cemetery, Cebu City - The Knights of the Altar (KOA) or altar servers of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes organized their annual "Mission Impossible" during the celebration of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. In this mission, the boys would walk to this cemetery from the shrine in order to look for graves and tombstones that have been left neglected and unprayed over.
Their mission is to clean these and pray for the souls of the deceased buried there. By doing so, the KOA members live out their faith in their practice of spiritual acts of mercy. They then gathered at the large cross of the cemetery where the mass grave is found to pray for all the souls in purgatory. This practice has been a yearly tradition for these young men. What is thought of as the impossibility of communion between believers across death is made possible through such a simple act of kindness?
